General Questions
What is Infinity Health?
InfinityHealth is Kenner’s first Direct Primary Care practice. A model of affordable, comprehensive, immediate and very personal health care.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care is a model where the physician has a direct contractual relationship with you, the patient. We work for you, we do not work for the insurance company. For a modest monthly fee Infinity Health provides primary care services for you. Visits, forms, refills, telephone/media consultations with no extra charge. We construct this for no-rush, same day visits if needed.
We keep our practice small so that you can have highly accessible individualized care. Read more HERE.
How is this better?
Patient membership is limited in size. This means more time for appointments, more time to speak directly to the doctor, longer appointments if you want, same day or next day service. More personalized service.
Infinity Health and Dr. Karl or Dr. Samia will have more time with you, working FOR you to provide enhanced access, encourage open communication, and strive for lower cost. If you need to come in, come in! If you need to discuss only, text, Skype whatever! We won’t make you miss work or school and come in just so we can bill an insurance company. If Dr. Karl medically thinks that you need to be seen face-to-face, then we will arrange for that.
Is there a membership?
Yes. You pay a modest monthly membership fee often less than your cell or TV bill with the daily cost being less than a typical Starbucks. The fee is automatically drafted from a checking account or credit card.Learn more about our member benefits HERE.
What if I am an EMPLOYER or own a business?
Direct Primary Care can be of great benefit. We can most likely reduce your health care cost and certainly do a great job of promoting and maintaining wellness. Contact us if you are an interested business owner who is purchasing typical insurance for your employees.
Infinity Health is especially good for self-insured businesses looking to improve employee health and reduce costs.
Insurance Questions
Does Infinity Health accept commercial insurance?
No, we have cleared away that interference
Commercial insurance has no place in Family Medicine. This is a core tenant. We strive to have a DIRECT relationship with YOU. We refuse to accept the fact that a middle-man is involved. Insurance companies have no right to dictate your care nor do they have any right to know your Personal Health Information.
As an Infinity Health patient, will I still need insurance?
We recommend that our patients obtain a healthshare plan or a major medical plan and a health savings account (HSA) to ensure financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary. The PPACA (Obamacare) makes it a law that you MUST carry health insurance or your own governement will fine you! We will refer you to the appropriate insurance agent who can help you select and craft a health care plan that fits your needs.
Will this affect my current insurance?
It could in a good way!
By choosing Direct Primary care you may be able to get a less expensive catastrophic policy with a significantly lower premium!
Can I join Infinity Health if I have Medicare?
Yes, you can become a member of Infinity Health if you have Medicare.
What if I don't have any insurance?
You can still see Dr. Hanson or Dr. Suleman. The monthly membership fee applies equally to everyone. You are still eligible for all the services and discounts.
In fact, an Infinity Health membership means we still work hard to keep your lab, X-ray and medication costs as low as possible.
Will I have a copay?
No. No copay. We do not participate with commercial insurances so is not required to collect a copay from you!
No deductibles to pay for Infinity Health members either!
Our Services
What services does Infinity Health offer?
We are a Family Medicine team that strives to provide health maintenance and disease prevention services as well as your typical acute needs on a more individual basis. We are YOUR Family Doctor, not simply what your insurances categorizes as a “Health Care Provider.”
Please see our “Benefits” section for details. We offer a direct relationship with you, enhanced access, comprehensive care, quicker appointments, longer appointments, discounted medications and labs…here when you need us.”
What about LABS?
We have been able to negotiate for deeply discounted labs at many facilites. Since so much of your costs are not covered because of your deductible this can translate to significant savings for you. Certain types of labs can also be covered by your insurance if you have a policy but often we can get those same labs cheaper.
What about X-RAYS?
We do not do imaging procedures in our office but can find significant cash-pay cost savings at several facilites to get you a great rate. You have the option of having this billed through your insurance but you may miss out on cost savings and less authorization hassles.
Are there any MEDICATION advantages?
There could be depending on the medication! Infinity Health will work to find cheaper medication alternatives as Dr. Karl can DISPENSE medication directly from the office. At times the cost may be cheaper than your copay. We can also work with other medication savings programs that can benefit you.
Will I ever have to pay anything besides my membership fee?
Only in certain instances for certain unusual labs, vaccinations or procedures. But that will be rare and we would talk about that first. But if you have your own insurance your insurance may cover some of those items. That depends on the individual and their policy.
Are HOUSE CALLS available?
There may be certain occasions where home or workplace visits are available for an extra travel fee. Those are at the discretion of Dr. Karl or Dr. Samia.
Does Dr. Hanson do COSMETICS and AESTHETICS?
YES! Dr. Hanson injects Botox and Fillers for cosmetic purposes.
Cosmetics are not included with the DPC Membership and are a separately payable service. Learn more HERE.
Does Dr. Hanson administer OPIOID ADDICTION TREATMENT?
YES! Dr. Hanson is certified to engage in buprenorphine/naloxone prescribing.
Individuals who wish this service must enrol in Infinity Health. The membership fee does not cover this service. A separate payment is due at the time of each visit.
